Matrescence is the physical, sociological, emotional and spiritual transition into motherhood.
Like adolescence, it’s a profound identity shift - not just a change in responsibilities, but a transformation of who you are.

It’s joyful. It’s disorienting.
And most of us are never told it’s coming.

At The Lost Self Club, we hold space for this in-between - where grief, growth, and rediscovery live side by side.

What is matrescence?

Grief isn’t always about death. Sometimes, it’s about losing parts of yourself.

The Lost Self Club is where mothers are allowed to grieve the self that no longer exists - and begin rebuilding who they’re becoming.

I created The Lost Self Club because I know what it’s like to feel lost in motherhood. Not just overwhelmed - but unsure who you are anymore.

With a background in grief studies and identity coaching, I’ve come to understand that what many of us experience in early motherhood isn’t just stress or exhaustion - it’s grief. Grief for who we were. For the version of ourselves we didn’t know we’d lose.

The Lost Self Club is a coaching and community space for mothers navigating identity grief and matrescence - the emotional transition into motherhood that no one quite prepares us for. It supports women who feel overwhelmed, unrecognised, or disconnected from who they used to be.

This space was made for that part of you.

The part that feels tender, unsure, or a bit like a stranger.

You’re not alone here.

Not a mother? You’re still welcome here.

I offer 1:1 coaching for women navigating identity shifts both inside and outside of motherhood - through grief, relationship endings, career upheaval, or life transitions that leave you asking, who am I now?

Whether you’re mourning a person, a path, or a part of yourself, this space holds that loss with care.

Through 1:1 coaching and reflective support, we work gently with the questions that arise when everything you knew is no longer certain. Because identity loss doesn’t just happen in motherhood. And every transformation deserves to be witnessed.

From the women who’ve been here…

Jade, first-time mum

“I’ve done mindset work before, but this felt completely different. There was no pressure to ‘bounce back’, just permission to feel, reflect, and slowly come home to myself.”

Hannah, creative professional

“The identity mapping tool was a game changer. I hadn’t realised how many parts of me I’d buried. Seeing them on paper and being invited to honour them was emotional in the best way.

Amy, mum of two

“I used to think grief was only about death. Kate helped me realise I was grieving me. That kind of truth changed everything. It gave me compassion for what I’ve been carrying.”
